Detailed Map
From el Albir ( Alfaz del Pi) go up Antiguo Camino de la Cantera Street and
then make a turning for the left along Sirio and Neptuno Streets, until you
reach the Albir leisure area where several other routes along the sierra also
start.
Head for a tunnel you will see from down under. Once you cross it you will
see an old road from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the coast, with
the Ifach Rock at the background.
The sights are, to the left close to the sea, the ochre mines, of Phoenician
and then Roman origin, to the right, on top of us, the “Boca de la Ballena” (
the Whale's Mouth), a huge cave that commands the lanscape.
At the end of the road we can find the Albir Lighthouse, next to which we
find the remains of an ancient watch tower. Form here you can also command
a good view of the cliffts.
IMPORTANT: both the tunnel and the Lighthouse perimeter are fenced. |
