A DISTRAUGHT girl of nine was being comforted last night after her mum fell 14 floors to her death from a holiday hotel balcony.
Teaching assistant Julie Mollart, 32 — who had taken her daughter to Spain for Christmas — plunged 140ft.
The youngster was thought to have been in the room at the time — along with Julie’s partner and his own child.
Fellow Brits at Benidorm’s three-star Hotel Flamingo were stunned by the horror — which happened on Christmas Day.
Julie, of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, was rushed to hospital with terrible injuries. She was pronounced dead on Boxing Day.
Police in the Costa Blanca resort ruled the death a tragic accident.
Relatives were arranging to fly Julie’s body home. The Foreign Office said: “We are providing help.”
The tragedy is the second to rock the family in three months.
Julie’s dad Terence Garner, 57, died on October 19 from injuries suffered five years ago when he was hit on the head with a brick.
A yob jailed for GBH could now face a murder charge. Det Insp Guy Titchener — leading the probe into Mr Garner’s death — said of the latest tragedy: “I’m shocked.”
